What others have to say about my work

I’ve helped many people just like you overcome shame. Let’s see if working together would help you too.

I was drawn to the Journey of You program because of its underlying premise that shame is a natural biological phenomenon, and freeing oneself from the shackles of shame is also rooted in our biology. Numerous types of therapy as well as physical and spiritual practices I’ve worked with over the years had given me an intellectual understanding of healthy self-worth, and I even seemed to have fleeting experiences of it. Yet the ability to consistently engage with all of the inherent challenges in life eluded me: Social anxiety, rumination, and ongoing vigilance were all part of my everyday reality. The JOY program is expertly led by Rena, whose teachings arise not only from Organic Intelligence® but from her many years as a therapist and adult educator as well as her personal experience. Rena is skilled at conveying her rich understanding in a variety of ways while effectively holding space for the group and each individual to process the teachings and apply them to their own lives. Although there is not a lot of emphasis on individual stories, Rena always responds with compassion and sharing how the teachings can relate when participants share their experiences. Comments are always welcomed and acknowledged. The opportunities within the JOY program to identify and share subtle experiences coupled with non-judgemental receiving of what I have shared has created significant shifts in the way I interact with the world. Over time, my capacity to experience the ebbs and flows of life has noticeably increased. I no longer ruminate as I had done almost continuously prior to the course. I have much more curiosity and feel both more rested and alive. Although there are still some things about myself that I view as limitations, I no longer feel defined by them. I have much more energy to develop myself in new ways. I can definitely say that the JOY program has been very enriching, and it is no exaggeration to say that it has enabled me to embrace life again.
