Didn’t know shame was something I dealt with…
Before starting this course, I didn’t really know shame was something I dealt with. I just wanted to feel more confident and more comfortable and stop feeling like I was always on edge. It turns out I actually had a lot of shame. And I didn’t discover that by talking about shame or my history in the class. I just noticed that I started to feel more relaxed and less stressed about work because I wasn’t beating myself up whenever I thought I messed up and I wasn’t trying to constantly anticipate who might be mad at me. And all I did was show up to the sessions. Crazy how little it takes for deep changes to happen. I’m glad I took the risk on this class and Rena.
